"Is it possible to use Comp Air kit-built airplanes in overseas bush/mission type flying operations?"
Rugged, roomy Comp Air planes would be very useful in
overseas bush & mission flying operations. The high useful load, low maintenance,
rugged construction, and outstanding off-airport short & rough field capabilities of
our products make them ideal for many utilitarian roles.
As uncertified experimental aircraft, Aerocomps products are not permitted to be
used for commercial purposes under FAA regulations. Other countries, however, may have
different rules. Several people have expressed interest in using these airplanes overseas
for various utilitarian purposes, but those opportunities have not yet been exploited.
Even here in the US, it is possible for some humanitarian, military, government, police,
and non-profit agencies to use experimental aircraft in utilitarian roles, provided that
they are not used for hire or compensation [Title
14 CFR 91.319].
