Meet Gordon Milliord
Its Saturday evening, and the live music playing in the Island Coffee House can be
heard by evening strollers on the boulevard outside. Inside, people are quietly playing
chess, enjoying a good cigar, or just sitting back and listening to the musicians. The
aroma of fresh-roasted coffee fills the air.
Its "open mike" night, which provides an opportunity for local amateur musicians to entertain the guests. As Gordon Milliord , Aerocomps fiberglass lay-up supervisor, picks up his guitar and begins to strum lightly, its obvious that this is a man totally absorbed in his work. He hardly notices that the audiences attention is now focused on him. Slowly, he begins to play.
Soon, Gordons fingers are dancing lightly across his guitar strings. He prefers a lively and talented "finger-picking" style of guitar playing. As he plays, he sings. His voice and guitar sing songs of loves won and lost, of days of happiness, and days of sadness. These are songs that everyone knows well and can relate to. Gordon is popular among Floridas Space Coast music-lovers. Hes talented, plays very well, and enjoys the company of other musicians.
During the workday, youll find Gordons hands making music of a totally different variety. These hands belong to a man who takes pride in perfection. To earn his living, Gordon employs his hands in the creation of airplanes. Hes been doing this for over 10 years now. He knows well how much pride an airplane builder takes in his project, and Gordon enjoys investing a similar effort in producing the kits from which these builders will work.

Gordon Milliord
Fiberglass Layup Supervisor
No one ever has to tell Gordon to be more diligent. No, in fact, its more likely that visitors to Aerocomp will wonder what he could possibly be fussing over. The tiny "imperfections" that Gordon works diligently to eliminate are rarely visible to someone with less experience. Formerly employed at Cape Canaveral, Gordon has been making fiberglass/composite aerospace components for most of his adult life. He does beautiful work. Under his close supervision, one or two junior laminators are employed to speed production.
Gordon loves the versatility that working with composites provides. In his hands, composites can be used to create almost anything imaginable. His first love is airplanes. When hes not making airplane kits for homebuilders, or creating beautiful music for coffee house guests, he works at home to fill orders for custom-made radio-controlled model airplanes. Gordons aircraft designs and paint schemes have won several awards, and he is frequently asked to assist builders in the selection and design of an appealing paint scheme.
Builders of Comp Air 6 airplanes appreciate Gordons careful attention to detail. His pride in his workmanship is obvious, and enables builders to create airplanes that will look and fly great for many years. Builders... if you visit the factory to pick up your kit, be sure to take a moment to thank Gordon for his efforts.
